Alto Tajo by Road

A 218 km road ride through the Alto Tajo Natural Park and the Molina-Alto Tajo UNESCO Global Geopark. Smooth tarmac, flowing bends and long stretches with hardly a car, in one of the least populated areas of Europe. You ride across the high plateaus of the Alcarria, past medieval salt pans and stone villages, through the Lordship of Molina and its castle, then drop down to the Tajo at the Puente de San Pedro, where the Gallo river joins it between walls of tufa.

Four days and three nights. You set off from the Real Balneario Carlos III spa in Trillo and, on the first day, ride all the way to the Parador de Molina de Aragón, opened in 2025, where every room looks out onto the castle. You stay there two nights without repacking, and on the last day ride back to Trillo and its thermal waters.
